Developing strategic messaging
Roundhouse opened its doors in 2018 as Edmonton’s first and only coworking space with a focus on nurturing a community of people who want to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond. This was a mission that instantly resonated with entrepreneurs and organizations that were already familiar with concepts like social innovation and changemaking. However, to everyone else this subject matter was opaque.
Furthermore, with Edmonton still growing as a city, the concept of coworking wasn’t something that all entrepreneurs were familiar with. We would need to develop a marketing and communications strategy that would enable Roundhouse to educate prospective members without our mission.
It was also important to capture the fun, spontaneous energy that is prevalent at Roundhouse. Their members go there to do more than just work—it’s a place to meet and collaborate with entrepreneurs, students and researchers.
In a google doc that spanned over 30 pages, our team wrote content detailing our founding story, member perks, staff profiles and the uniqueness of our plant-filled, raw wood adorned open concept space. In conjunction with this content development, we interviewed several members and launched a series of long-form profile blog posts.

Professional Photography
To show off our space, community and amenities, I led the creative direction for a professional photoshoot. All shots featured staff or real members and the photograpgher was a Roundhouse member.
